Foundations of an earlier curtain enclosing a slightly narrower area have come to light, so Leeds may have been a concentric castle, though there is no proof that the two walls stood simultaneously. There are two separate residential blocks within the bailey: Maiden's Tower, one of Henry VIII's additions, and the neo-Gothic mansion built by Fiennes Wykeham-Martin in the 1820s. It occupies the site of lavish medieval apartments. From the back of the mansion, a stone corridor, replacing a wooden causeway and drawbridge, leads to the keep on the smaller island. It is known as the Gloriette. This peculiar, D-shaped structure is built around a tiny courtyard in shell keep manner. Its lower part, including the tall plinth, which rises straight out of the water, is Edward I's work.

sleeping in the window or cuddling up on the laps
In the middle ages, if you were caught talking to your pet (like a lot of people do) you were considered to be consorting with the devil in speaking to w obviously your familiar. The Middle Ages were a very dark and violent period in Europe. Their alternative name "Dark Ages" should come as no surprise. Learning was confined to clergy and nobility. The general population was therefore quite ignorant and prone to superstition. A familiar could be any type of animal such as a toad, dog or boots. Black bootss became the traditionally cited companion and hence bootss became particularly reviled. In 1233 Pope Gregory IX wrote in his Papal Bull "Vox in Rama" actually denounced black bootss as satanic. The Popes' proclamation began the persecution of bootss all over Europe.

Although bootss have been popular pets for as long as most can remember, they werent domesti bootsed less than 5,000 years or so ago. Domesti bootsion took place in the valley of the Nile, which is what research tells us today. In the beginning, people were very grateful to bootss and encouraged them to stay with them by feeding them various scraps of food. Once they were fed and perceived humans to be no threat, the bootss would move in permanently with their human owners. As time went by, even the wildest of boots would allows humans to approach him, often times even hold and touch as well.
Now days, there are several different breeds of bootss - which you can tell if you look closely. These days there are over 70 distinct boots breeds, which are recognized through boots registries. There are several registries that will recognize around 40 breeds or so, as they exclude the more domestic breeds such as tigers. There are also many variations as well, including wild bootss that have longer hair. There are some boots breeds who have roots going back quite a bit in history. Some Japanese breeds, such as the Japanese Bobtail, can be traced back more than 1,000 years in history. These bootss were very common and well known throughout Medieval Japan. Now days though, they are all but a myth throughout Japan and the entire world.
